Top 3 Ways to Seriously Increase Your Promotion Conversion Rates
For an affiliate, the bottom line is your conversion rate: what percentage of visitors can you convert into buyers? This is true whether you’re doing promotions to your email list or trying to convert visitors directly from your landing or review page. Here are the top three ways to increase your conversion rates to make more sales:
1. Demonstrate your personal results. This is by far the best way to increase your conversion rates on products you’re promoting. If you can demonstrate to the visitor how you personally benefited from the product, they are much more likely to buy. Include as much multimedia as you can: images, charts, videos, sound. The more they can “see” your results, the more they will trust that they, too, will benefit from the product.
2. Add urgency to the promotion. Providing a special bonus for a limited amount of time is a great way to increase conversion rates. Stating that you’ll throw in an extra widget valued at $37 if the visitor buys before midnight Tuesday will always motivate people to act now rather than “think about it.” If a visitor has to “think about it” he’ll talk himself out of it, so give him the need to make a decision immediately.
3. Cut the hype. Avoid unrealistic statements and claims that you cannot back up with proof. A good rule of thumb is: if you can’t show proof that it’s true, don’t make the claim. Having a more practical, down-to-earth approach will better win the trust of your audience.
Each of these three tips will have a very positive affect on your conversion rate. The higher your conversion rate, the less traffic you need to deliver to earn each dollar, so it behooves you to put as much work as necessary into increasing it.
