specialized has always been at the top of the field, some say tek but their frames are not as light , ‘cept the aluminum which doesn’t last as long. kona is a knock off.
btw, most specialized chrome/molly frames have a lifetime warranty, in response to the ‘lasts longer’ comment a feww posts down. and then there is/was the m2 frame, the same material used by corvette drive shafts, not a bad choice for strong, light tubular steel.

some are for or against kona. I think their bikes are strong but a little heavy compared to felt specialized etc. They do well in the Mountain bike category from what I hear.

Specialized is very solid and down to earth

Trek is very much bloated with the Lance Armstrong adds. Good bike but you pay for the name

Kona makes excellent bikes! Keep in mind that many (90%) of the bikes under certain brand are made in china. Im more of a racer and Ive seen many konas which last as long or even longer than any trek or specialzed. My neighbor has a King Kahuna made out of titanium and the bike is sick!!

And as for the people against kona… plain hatters!

I think that Kona makes pretty good durable bikes. They don’t have the big name as Specialized or Trek, and don’t have the refinements of higher end but smaller companies as Santa Cruz, Turner or others.

I think that the coiler is a good bike, but I don’t know your budget and what you want to do with your bike.

They’re all made in taiwan at giant factories! You’re paying for a decal printed on the downtube!

Kona makes great bikes. The CoilAir is a good bike if you want FS, although I select the Supreme model which is about twice the cost of the base model. Specialized makes great bikes, and Treks tend to be more blase’ in the mtb world
