<a href=""></a>

You should hike the volcano. It is erupting more than it has been in the past few years. Make sure you bring binoculars, flash light (which you can buy at walmart on the Big Island) and water... it gets hot. Plan to visit the flow site in the evening and hike around after dark. Don't worry, everyone does it... you won't be alone... there will be a few hundred other people... There is a beautiful sea arch down by the flow site. We enjoyed Disappearing Sands beach or White Sands beach. It is a very small beach right before you get to the strip in Kona. Best for boogie boarding. You can rent a boogie board, but we went to Walmart and bought one... nice souvenir. Down by the dock on the kona strip, where the boats launch, bring some bread or crackers and feed the fish. It is just amazing to see the fish that are in aquariums just swimming around.

Find a tour guide - they can take you up the mountain to view waterfalls and inside the dormant craters of the volcano's. There is lusch vegetation and great picture opportunities.
