Where to see fireworks on Big Island, Hawaii, this July 4th?

skibum76 asked:

I’m going to Kona, HI, for the week of July 1-8. Appreciate any tips on where to see the best fireworks, and any events going on that week that would be good to check out.

When I was in Hawaii, the fireworks were usually at the tourist area like the shopping centers. There must be one in every island!! ^___^

I don’t know on the Big Island, but on Oahu on July 3rd at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, they are having a celebration going on.

Fireworks? Just about anywhere since fireworks are legal in the state of Hawaii on July 4th. If you want a show, you should check out the major hotels. Sometimes they have shows but on the outer islands, I can’t say for certain.

As for what’s going on…..it’s just like any other week in Hawaii except it’s a holiday for most on Wednesday.

    Happy Birthday America!

ask the concierge at the hotel. in hilo on the other side of the island, they always put on a fireworks display on coconut island.
