Which is better for a family with kids to visit the Hawaian Islands Kona or Kaui?

There are no flights avaliable to any of the other islands, so we have Kona or Kaui to choose from..(our stay will be a couple of days) If you have been there which one do you recommend and why? Please only stick to the two islands (kona, and Kaui) thanks!
